An Early Start

I don't recall the exact time or train schedule, but obviously, we had to get up at O-dark-30 to get to the race on time.  You see, we were on the western side of the Swiss Alps and the race was in the central Alps. So we had to catch the train down the hill from Leysin to Aigle, then the train up the Valley (Vallai is actually the name of the canton through which we traveled) to Brig (pronounced Breeg), and then up Bettmeralp (a ski hill) on a gondola or tram or whatever you may call it.  Anyhow, here we are walking down our little path which leads to the local train station in Leysin.

Aletsch Half Marathon. June 30 2013

This blog will contain all the pictures I took and my descriptions of the 2013 Aletsch Half Marathon, which occurred on June 30, 2013 on Bettmeralp, just beneath the Aletsch Glacier in the central Alps of Switzerland.  I ran this race with Von Walden and 6000 of my very closest Swiss friends.  The funny thing is that my camera dated all the photos on the 29th, because it was still set to Pacific Daylight Time. It took less two hours to run this race, but will probably take a few weeks to post and comment on all the photos.  Sorry.  I'm slow.
